Kowhai Park (Anzac Parade)

This deserves 10 stars! It is a HUGE area with lots of nursery rhyme themed parts from humpty dumpty, hickory dickory dock, little miss Muffet, the Flintstones, and a BBQ area inside a pumpkin. Massive wooden tower and fast flying fox. For those with skateboards there is a skate bowl, and also a separate area for roller skates. There is a water park with sprinklers that alternate (definitely bring your togs). We could stay all day here!

This has got to be the best little playground in NZ, that people don’t know about. It’s huge! It’s got toilets. It’s right by the river. Trees for shade. Park grounds for games and picnics. Plenty of parking. A miniature railway. Water fun section and the most amazing playground activities! All themed, some based on traditional stories and rhymes, others just popular themes. You could spend hours and hours here. A MUST visit if your in Whanganui and worthy of a detour to visit if you are close by. It’s my number 1!
